Integral to Life • For this artist, it is a real challenge to delve into the reasons why painting has become such an vital part of her life … but it’s hard for her to imagine a day passing without painting.

your letters • Artist’s Palette magazine invites correspondence from readers everywhere. We will seek to publish some of the best letters we receive. Email letters to ‘The Editor’ – ap@woodlandspublishing.com.au – or you may alternatively mail them to PO Box 8035, Glenmore Park NSW 2745.

Woodland’s gallery • These feature pages are reserved for displaying the work of emerging and developing Australian artists; as well as other unknowns whose efforts may provide interest for our readers.

Perfect Escapism • It’s a pure moment, free from concerns about day to day life. Grab it while you can.

Drawing Wild • Drawing, for me, is a constant joy and passion. I have always loved drawing. I cannot remember a time in my life when I have not been drawing something.

The Devil’s Hole • I love drawing animals – especially the unique animals of Australia. I strongly believe that drawing from life is the key to good understanding of any animal and consequently a good finished drawing.

This Is What We Do On Fridays • Each week about a dozen people meet on the deck at Bloomhill Cancer Help Centre, in Buderim Queensland, to enjoy one another’s company and to paint. We are gently guided by our facilitator Eva King, assisted by Johanna – a Bloomhill volunteer.

“When Man Dreams, Humanity Advances!” • God, life, forces of nature, universal creativity ... ... all we need is to have faith, humility to tap into our dreams and unblock the flow of creativity that is within reach of everyone who dares.

The Zulu Chief • The majesty of the awesome Zulu Chief is brought to life in this marvellous painting.

Don’t Bother Me World, I Just Want To Paint • By the age of 12, my drawings were more sophisticated than the majority of adult’s drawings. I was endowed with certain personality traits which enabled me to hone my skills as an artist early in life.

Frog in my Garden • Capture the cuteness of this frog using Kylie's instructions.

Brett’s Passion • A memory of an aunt’s wonderful coloured pencil set and oil paints was reignited when this modest artist received his 45th birthday present.

The Man • This air-brushed portrait on canvas with acrylic airbrush paint won the People’s Choice Award at last year’s Kiama Art Exhibition.
